We’re Piloting DISABILITY CONVOCATIONS IN LOCAL CONGREGATIONS

The work of local discipleship as practiced by local congregations must have accessibility at its core. Places of worship must not only be places where people with disabilities can feel included and cared for. That’s only the first step in a culture of accessibility. Truly accessible congregations are places where people with disabilities can feel genuine belonging and participate in meaningful friendships. Not only that, truly accessible congregations should offer people with disabilities the opportunity to co-labor in the work of ministry, inviting them to contribute their own unique giftings toward greater flourishing for the whole community.

Led by Dr. Thomas Boehm, these Faith and Disability Convocations are designed to be worshipful, interactive, and transformative events hosted by local churches and synogogues that take a deep dive into the centrality of disability in the work of discipleship. It’s the goal of these convocations to equip spiritual leaders and congregational members to better serve and build community with those with disabilities in their immediate communities.
