FAITH FOR ALL: GLOBAL
Disability is a Discipleship Gateway in Global Frontier Missions
Faith for All is a proud partner of Maranatha, a multi-dimensional movement of disciple makers and pioneers, catalyzed by the missions organization Frontier Alliance International.
The video above is an address made by FAI founder Dalton Thomas to leading scholars and practitioners at the groundbreaking Wheaton College Faith & Disability Symposium. A pioneer in frontier mission work, Dalton speaks directly to how following God’s call to embrace people with disability has unique power to open doors and provoke disciple-making movements.
“Maranatha is a relationally-driven missions movement fueled by worship and prayer to stoke the flames of hope for the Messiah’s return.”
In the places that have not yet been reached by the gospel, authentic, transforming Kingdom communities are often built most effectively and durably by engaging directly with those on the margins of society. Ministry to those with disabilities can be the most profound gospel witness to unbelieving communities, and it can crack those communities open to transformation in a way that little else can.
The theological and practical work done on discipleship and disability in the West will inevitably impact the way in which disability is engaged on the frontiers of global missions. Maranatha seeks to model this sharing of methodology, theology, scholarship, and disciple-making discourse between the East and the West, and the power of engagement with disability is key in that global exchange.
1/3 of all funds raised through the 6 Million Challenge will be given to the work of frontier missions in the Middle East through Frontier Alliance International. Donations are tax-deductible.
